About the Laserex 3000
The Laserex 3000 is a Class 3B cold laser system built from the ground up for veterinary and animal applications. It delivers 300–450mW of 808nm laser energy in a handheld, battery-powered form factor that weighs under a pound, making it practical for use in a clinical setting, at the barn, or on location at competitions and events.
For veterinarians, trainers, and animal owners looking for a capable Class 3B therapy laser at an accessible price point, the Laserex 3000 offers strong performance-to-cost ratio. The interchangeable emitter system means you can start with one head and add the second later, or purchase both up front with the Dual System for complete flexibility.
All Laserex 3000 systems sold by ColdLasers.org include a standard US 110V battery charger and the laser-therapy.us protocol library—a treatment reference that provides dosage guidelines and protocols for common veterinary conditions.
Designed for Animal Use
The Laserex 3000 is specifically designed and marketed for use on animals. Common applications include companion pets (dogs, cats), horses, and other large and small animals. It is available for professional veterinary use as well as home use by animal owners.
This device is not FDA cleared for human use. It is sold exclusively for veterinary and animal applications. If you need an FDA-cleared system for human patients, see our FDA-cleared laser collection.
Understanding the Emitter Heads
The Laserex 3000's interchangeable head system is one of its most practical features. Both emitter heads connect to the same base console, so you can switch between them mid-session without powering down or changing settings. Each head is machined from aluminum for durability and precise beam alignment.
300mW Single Diode Emitter
A single 808nm laser diode delivering 300mW of power in a focused beam. Provides concentrated energy delivery to a small treatment area.
450mW Three-Diode Cluster Emitter
Three 150mW laser diodes delivering a combined 450mW across a wider treatment area. Covers more tissue per session than the single head.
We recommend the 450mW cluster head for most general applications. The 300mW single diode head is best suited for targeted trigger point therapy and acupuncture. The Dual System ($3,298) includes both heads for complete versatility.
The 808nm Wavelength
808nm is a widely used wavelength in photobiomodulation therapy. It falls within the near-infrared range of the therapeutic optical window, where light penetrates tissue effectively and is absorbed by chromophores in the mitochondria, particularly cytochrome c oxidase. This absorption triggers a cascade of cellular responses including increased ATP production, enhanced cellular metabolism, and modulation of inflammatory processes.
808nm near-infrared light penetrates through skin, fur, and subcutaneous tissue to reach deeper structures including muscles, tendons, and joints.
Absorbed by mitochondrial chromophores to promote ATP production, increase blood flow, and support the body's natural recovery processes at the cellular level.
While 808nm is the standard and most commonly used configuration, Laserex can produce emitter heads with alternative wavelengths on request.
Built for Portability
The entire unit weighs just 340 grams (about 12 ounces) with batteries installed. At 205mm long, it fits comfortably in one hand during extended treatment sessions.
Includes 2 sets of rechargeable batteries and a charging station. Charge one set while using the other for no downtime between patients or sessions.
Ships with a protective aluminum carry case that holds the console, emitter heads, batteries, and charger. Designed for safe transport to barns, shows, and field locations.
Operating Modes & Pulse Frequencies
The Laserex 3000 operates in both continuous wave (CW) and pulsed modes. Pulsing allows practitioners to adjust energy delivery characteristics for different tissue types and treatment goals. Dosimetry input is based on Joules/cm², giving precise control over energy delivery.

Frequently Asked Questions
No. The Laserex 3000 is designed and sold exclusively for veterinary and animal use. It is not FDA cleared for human applications. If you need a laser for treating human patients, please see our FDA-cleared product lines.
450mW Cluster Head ($2,672): Recommended for most applications. The 3-diode cluster covers a wider area and delivers more total power, making it well-suited for general treatment of joints, muscles, and larger anatomical areas on dogs and horses.
300mW Single Head ($2,046): Best for precision work—acupuncture point stimulation, trigger point therapy, and small treatment areas. A good choice if your primary use case is targeted, focused treatment.
Dual System ($3,298): Includes both heads. Best value if you treat a variety of conditions and want the flexibility to switch between precision and broad-area treatment on the same console.
The Laserex 3000 includes two sets of rechargeable batteries and a charging station. This allows you to keep one set charging while using the other, so you always have a fresh set ready. Battery life will vary depending on output power and treatment duration, but the dual battery system ensures you're never without power between patients.
